Standards for Types

Publications

Reports and Studies

Recurrent and Non Recurrent publications and technical reports/materials

Booklets, pamphlets, brochures, etc. that are associated with reports and studies will be uploaded on the same page as the report/study.

Briefs

Briefs could include issue briefs or policy briefs that synthesize existing research knowledge on an issue, policy or practice of importance. Briefs are written in a language geared towards interested non-experts and answer issues like: what is the research evidence related to a given issue, policy or practice? What policy recommendations follow from that evidence? What does ESCWA consider to be the best option(s)? They are aimed at policymakers and others interested in formulating or influencing policy.

A brief should not exceed 10 pages in length.

Training and Guidelines

These are primarily from DA and XB projects, but some may also be from the regular program.

Data and Statistics

Statistical publications with associated data (e.g. statistical bulletins, indicators, abstracts, national accounts) and compendium statistics.

Informational Material

Brochures, booklets, pamphlets, etc. that are not associated with another category.  If a brochure, booklet, pamphlet, is associated with a report or study, it will be uploaded on that webpage and will not get its separate webpage.

Working Papers

Initial studies that present the findings/analysis of an ongoing research. Often called “grey literature”, they may later become a full-fledged publication.
