ESCWA Web Governance

These are the standards and guidelines for managing and maintaining the ESCWA website. All content entered after 1 May 2016 should follow the guidelines set here and page revisions for existing pages should be made in accordance with the timelines provide

Content Owner

Content owners are those that write text and provide inputs for the website and are usually the lead person for the output/activity: Publication leads, Event organizers, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Writing quality substance, free of grammatical and spelling errors a reasonable person could identify (whether or not the text will be provided to CSS for formal editing)
  • Ensuring content is in line with ESCWA guidelines within these web governance standards and brand guidelines
  • Tailoring of language of text based on the purpose and audience of the piece being written
  • Communicating with the Content Approver as needed to ensure content is approved. Content Owners are responsible for ensuring their respective Content Approver has approved the content before passing to the next staff member in the process.
  • Updating event webpage text and documents after the event
